The main objectives of the course are to teach current modelling and animation techniques using bespoke industry-relevant software applications and proprietary tools. By the end of the course the student will have created a project portfolio of game animation projects that can be used for securing a future job in the games industry. The course will provide a solid grounding in art design that will be entirely relevant to a job at a game developer studio.
- ABOUT THIS ROLE
- The Games Artist and Animator will create the video game art and is essentially the visual artist for the game's development.
- The artist 's job will be to produce; animations, cinematics, the 3D environment as well as textures, meshes, sprites, background images and terrains, and concept art, using industry standard software such as Photoshop, Mudbox, 3D Studio Max and Maya.
- SALARIES FOR THIS ROLE
Salaries range from £20,000 for recent graduates to considerably over £100,000 for executives who are at the forefront of the industry. Lead designers and lead programmers often receive some of the highest salaries but these positions require some years of experience in similar positions at lower levels before they can be attained.
If you are self-employed you can expect to earn from £35 to £175 per hour depending on your experience, the job you are doing and also the time of when the work is performed.
